pinkeyes
Contagious eye condition
Pinkeyes is the plural of pinkeye, the common name for conjunctivitis—an inflammation that makes the whites of the eyes turn pink or red: Half the kindergarten came down with pinkeyes last month.
The term can refer to multiple cases of the condition or, less commonly, to eyes affected by it.
