physical humor
Pratfalls and mugging
Physical humor is comedy that comes from the body rather than from words—pratfalls, exaggerated facial expressions, slapstick violence, awkward movements.
The tradition runs from vaudeville through silent film to modern comedians.
The movie relied heavily on physical humor, with characters slipping on banana peels and walking into doors.
