philander
Pursue extramarital affairs
To philander is to engage in casual sexual affairs, especially said of men who do so habitually while in a committed relationship.
The word carries judgment—a philanderer is unfaithful, not merely sexually active: He philandered throughout his marriage.
The term feels somewhat dated; modern speech more often uses *cheat* or *sleep around*.
