peekaboos

Hiding face fun

Peekaboos is the plural of peekaboo, the game played with infants where you hide your face and reveal it with a cry of "peekaboo!" The word extends to anything with a reveal-and-conceal quality: peekaboo cutouts in clothing, peekaboo glimpses of something partially hidden.

The curtains offered peekaboos of the garden beyond.
