parents-in-law
Marriage-acquired mother, father
Parents-in-law are the mother and father of one's spouse.
The term functions as the plural of both parent-in-law and the compound parents-in-law when referring to a married couple: We're visiting my parents-in-law for Thanksgiving.
When both spouses' parents are meant, context usually clarifies: Both sets of parents-in-law attended the wedding.
