biological parents
Genetic mom and dad
Biological parents are the man and woman whose genetic material created a child—the birth mother and the father who provided sperm.
The term distinguishes them from adoptive parents, stepparents, or other caregivers: She was raised by her grandmother but recently reconnected with her biological parents.
Often shortened to bio parents in casual speech.
