paraeducator
Teacher's instructional helper
A paraeducator is a school employee who assists teachers but isn't a licensed teacher themselves.
They work under teacher supervision, helping with instruction, classroom management, and individual student support—especially for students with disabilities or language barriers.
Also called teacher's aide or paraprofessional: The paraeducator worked one-on-one with students who needed extra help.
