overdilute
Weaken too much
To overdilute is to dilute something too much, weakening it beyond usefulness: She overdiluted the cleaning solution and it wouldn't cut through the grease.
The term applies to liquids, chemicals, and figuratively to ideas or efforts spread too thin: The message was overdiluted by committee revisions.
