outer lips
External genital borders
The outer lips are the labia majora—the larger, outer folds of skin surrounding the vulva.
They're covered with pubic hair on the outside and protect the inner lips, clitoris, and vaginal opening.
The term is informal, used when discussing anatomy without clinical terminology: The outer lips can darken during pregnancy.
