outdoor mat
Porch floor covering
An outdoor mat is a durable floor covering placed outside a building's entrance to trap dirt, mud, and moisture before people track them inside.
Typically made of weather-resistant materials like rubber, coir, or synthetic fibers: We need a new outdoor mat for the back porch.
Also called a doormat or welcome mat.
