ostomy bag
Waste collection pouch
An ostomy bag is a pouch worn outside the body to collect waste from a surgically created opening (stoma) in the abdomen.
The bag attaches to the skin around the stoma and catches feces or urine that can no longer exit through normal channels—typically after surgery for colorectal cancer, Crohn's disease, or bladder conditions.
Also called a colostomy bag, ileostomy bag, or urostomy bag depending on which organ the stoma connects to.
