ornamental glass
Aesthetic transparent decor
Ornamental glass is decorative glasswork valued for its aesthetic qualities rather than purely functional purposes.
The term covers stained glass windows, art glass vases, etched panels, and decorative mirrors.
The Victorian home featured ornamental glass in every doorway.
Distinguished from utilitarian glass like windows or bottles, though the line blurs with artistic craftsmanship.
