on-base percentage
Batter's arrival frequency
On-base percentage is a baseball statistic measuring how often a batter reaches base, calculated by dividing times on base (hits, walks, hit by pitch) by plate appearances.
It captures a batter's ability to avoid making outs, which many analysts consider more valuable than batting average alone.
Often abbreviated OBP: His .400 OBP led the league.
