off one's head

Lost one's marbles

Off one's head means crazy, irrational, or not thinking clearly.

The phrase suggests someone's mind has become detached from normal functioning: You'd have to be off your head to swim in that water.

In British slang, it also describes being extremely drunk or high: He was completely off his head at the party.

Sometimes shortened to off his head or similar.
