nonprinting
Hidden from output
Nonprinting describes characters or elements that don't appear when a document is printed or displayed in final form.
In word processing and typesetting, nonprinting characters include spaces, tabs, paragraph marks, and page breaks—formatting instructions that shape the document but remain invisible in the output.
Toggle the nonprinting characters to see where the extra spacing is coming from.
Most text editors let you show or hide these marks while working.
