needlecord

Thin-ribbed cotton fabric

Needlecord is a fine-waled corduroy fabric with very narrow ribs, lighter and softer than standard corduroy.

The name refers to the needle-thin ridges in the weave.

It's used for trousers, jackets, and dresses where a subtler texture is desired: a needlecord blazer in olive green.
