nand
Inverted AND operation
A nand is a logic gate that outputs false only when all its inputs are true—the inverse of an AND gate.
The name combines "not" and "and." Nand gates are fundamental in digital electronics because any other logic gate can be constructed from them alone.
The circuit uses four nand gates. (Capitalized NAND refers to flash memory technology.)
