myotonia
Delayed muscle relaxation
Myotonia is a medical condition in which muscles contract normally but are slow to relax, causing temporary stiffness.
Someone with myotonia might grip a doorknob and find their hand won't immediately release: The myotonia in his hands made it difficult to let go of objects.
The condition appears in several inherited disorders and can affect any voluntary muscle.
