mushroom ring
Circular spore pattern
A mushroom ring is a naturally occurring circle of mushrooms that appears when fungal growth spreads outward from a central point, with the oldest growth dying off in the middle.
Also called a fairy ring, from folk beliefs that such circles marked places where fairies danced.
A perfect mushroom ring had appeared overnight on the lawn.
