mural paintings
Art on walls
Mural paintings are artworks painted directly on walls, ceilings, or other large permanent surfaces.
The term is somewhat redundant since murals are by definition paintings, but it emphasizes the painted (rather than mosaic or relief) nature of the work: The mural paintings of Diego Rivera transformed Mexican public buildings.
