multiplicands
Multiplied quantity terms
A multiplicand is a number to be multiplied by another.
In the expression 6 × 4, the multiplicand is 6—the quantity being multiplied—while 4 is the multiplier.
The distinction matters more in teaching arithmetic than in practice, since multiplication is commutative: The multiplicands in these problems are all single digits.
