mudpies
Children's outdoor creations
Mudpies are mixtures of mud and water that children shape into pie-like forms during outdoor play.
The activity requires no equipment beyond dirt and water, making it a universal childhood pastime: The kids spent all afternoon making mudpies in the backyard.
Figuratively, something dismissed as worthless or amateurish might be compared to mudpies.
