mouth burn
Impatient eater's consequence
Mouth burn is the stinging, painful sensation from eating something too hot or too spicy.
The term covers both thermal burns from scalding food or drinks and the chemical heat from capsaicin in peppers: I got mouth burn from that first sip of coffee.
The roof of the mouth and tongue are particularly vulnerable.
