moose antler
Palmate cervid headgear
A moose antler is one of the large, flat, palmate growths that sprout from a bull moose's skull each year.
Unlike the branching antlers of deer or elk, moose antlers spread wide and flat like open hands, with points along the edges.
Bulls shed and regrow them annually.
Shed antlers are collected as decorations, dog chews, or craft materials.
