mock sincerity
Pretending to care
Mock sincerity is feigned earnestness, often deployed sarcastically or to highlight someone else's phoniness.
The phrase describes expressions of feeling that are deliberately hollow: She thanked him with mock sincerity for his "helpful" suggestions.
It can also name a rhetorical pose—performing genuine emotion so exaggeratedly that the falseness becomes the point.
