Couples' official record
A marriage registry is an official record where marriages are documented by a government authority, or the office that maintains such records.
In another sense, a marriage registry is a list of desired gifts that an engaged couple creates at stores, allowing wedding guests to select presents: They set up a marriage registry at three department stores.
