marble chips
Crusite white gravel
Marble chips are small, irregular fragments of marble, typically ranging from pea-sized to golf ball–sized pieces.
They're commonly used as decorative ground cover in landscaping, as aggregate in terrazzo flooring, and in aquariums to buffer water pH.
In chemistry classrooms, marble chips react with acids to demonstrate carbon dioxide production: We dropped marble chips into hydrochloric acid and collected the gas.
