Redo after absence
Makeup work is schoolwork completed after an absence to compensate for missed assignments or lessons.
Students who miss class due to illness, travel, or other excuses are typically given time to complete makeup work: I have three days of makeup work to finish after being out with the flu.
The term applies to tests, homework, and in-class activities alike.
