lunar dust
Satellite surface particles
Lunar dust is the fine, powdery material covering the moon's surface, formed over billions of years by meteorite impacts grinding rock into particles.
Unlike Earth dust, it has jagged edges that cling to surfaces and can damage equipment: Lunar dust got into everything on the Apollo missions.
Also called regolith when referring to the broader layer of loose material.
