A loving cup is a large ceremonial drinking vessel with two or more handles, traditionally passed around a table so each person can drink from it.
The handles allow one person to hold while another drinks.
Loving cups are awarded as trophies in competitions, particularly in sports and horse shows, where they serve as prestigious prizes: The winner hoisted the loving cup above her head.
