lovie

Term of endearment

Lovie is a term of endearment, chiefly British, equivalent to "love" or "dear": Thanks, lovie.

It's affectionate and informal, used between intimates or by service workers addressing customers.

In American usage, a lovie is also a child's comfort object—a blanket or stuffed animal they're attached to: She can't sleep without her lovie.
