locks in
Guarantees the rate
Locks in means to secure or guarantee something so it can't change.
You lock in a price, a rate, or a deal: We locked in our mortgage rate before it went up.
It can also mean to commit fully: Once you sign, you're locked in for two years.
In competition, locking in a victory means clinching it beyond doubt.
