literals
Hardcoded data entries
Literals are values written directly into code rather than referenced through variables or computed—the actual numbers, text strings, or other data that appear as themselves.
In programming, 42 is an integer literal, "hello" is a string literal, and true is a boolean literal.
The term distinguishes fixed values from expressions that must be evaluated.
