leaf peepers
Fall foliage seekers
Leaf peepers are tourists who travel to see autumn foliage, especially in New England and other regions known for vibrant fall colors.
The term is mildly teasing—locals may complain about leaf peepers clogging rural roads and filling small-town restaurants every October.
The leaf peepers are out in force this weekend.
