late life
One's twilight period
Late life refers to the final stage of a person's lifespan, typically the years from the mid-sixties onward.
The term appears often in medical and psychological contexts: late-life depression, late-life cognitive decline.
It can also describe pursuits or changes that come near the end: a late-life career change, his late-life conversion to Buddhism.
