kiln dried
Heat-treated wood process
Kiln dried describes wood or other materials that have been dried in a kiln—a heated chamber that removes moisture more quickly and thoroughly than air drying.
The process reduces warping, cracking, and susceptibility to insects or mold.
Kiln-dried lumber is standard for furniture and construction: Make sure you're using kiln-dried boards for the flooring.
