kick around
Push someone around
To kick around is to treat roughly or dismissively: They kicked him around for years before he quit.
It also means to consider casually or discuss without urgency: We kicked around a few ideas.
Something that's been kicking around has been lying about unused or neglected: That manuscript has been kicking around my desk for months.
