kayoed
Sent down hard
Kayoed means knocked out, whether literally in boxing or figuratively in any context where someone is rendered unconscious or utterly defeated.
It comes from pronouncing the initials K.O. as a word.
The term works as both verb and adjective: He was kayoed in the third round or The kayoed fighter lay motionless on the canvas.
Outside boxing, it describes being completely overwhelmed or exhausted.
