joinder
Parties brought together
Joinder is a legal term for the combining of parties or claims in a single lawsuit.
When plaintiffs with related grievances sue together, or when a defendant brings in additional parties, that's joinder.
The court allowed joinder of the two cases because they arose from the same accident.
The word appears almost exclusively in legal contexts.
