jocundity

State of gladness

Jocundity is cheerfulness or merriment—a lighthearted, jovial disposition.

The word is literary and somewhat old-fashioned, more likely found in Victorian novels than contemporary speech: The jocundity of the gathering lifted everyone's spirits.

The adjective jocund is similarly rare.
