inquietude
Persistent mental discomfort
Inquietude is a state of restlessness or unease—a persistent disquiet of mind.
The word is literary and somewhat old-fashioned, appearing more often in translated works or formal prose than in everyday speech: A vague inquietude settled over her as the evening wore on.
It suggests a milder, more sustained disturbance than anxiety or agitation.
