Spouse's family member
In law describes a family relationship created by marriage rather than blood.
Your mother-in-law is your spouse's mother; your brother-in-law is your spouse's brother or your sibling's spouse.
The plural adds an s to the relative: mothers-in-law, brothers-in-law.
Informally, the in-laws refers to your spouse's family collectively: We're having dinner with the in-laws.
