hot rodder
Modified car enthusiast
A hot rodder is someone who builds, modifies, or races hot rods—cars (typically older American models) customized for speed and style.
The term evokes midcentury American car culture: drag strips, chrome engines, and weekend tinkering.
He's been a hot rodder since he bought his first '32 Ford.
