hook slide
Curved baserunning maneuver
A hook slide is a baseball technique where a runner sliding into a base curves their body away from the fielder, reaching back with one hand to touch the bag while evading the tag.
The sliding leg hooks around to make contact with the base: He executed a perfect hook slide to avoid the catcher's glove.
Also called a fadeaway slide.
