hollow man
Soulless human facade
A hollow man is someone who lacks substance, conviction, or authentic inner life—outwardly present but inwardly empty.
The phrase gained literary currency from T.S.
Eliot's 1925 poem depicting spiritually vacant modern people: He's a hollow man, all ambition and no principles.
It describes those who go through motions without genuine belief or moral core.
