high arc
Rainbow-shaped ball path
A high arc is a curved trajectory that rises steeply before descending—the path of a basketball shot, a lobbed grenade, or a fountain's spray.
The term describes both the shape and the tactical choice: a high arc clears obstacles and drops sharply, while a flat trajectory travels faster but lower.
She threw in a high arc over the defender's outstretched hands.
