Gone crazy describes someone who has lost mental stability or begun acting irrationally.
The phrase works literally for mental breakdowns but more often appears hyperbolically: I think I've gone crazy—I can't find my keys anywhere.
It also describes passionate enthusiasm: The crowd went crazy when she walked onstage.
Something that has gone crazy has become chaotic or unpredictable: The stock market has gone crazy.
