gold rushers
Forty-niners, for example
Gold rushers are people who flock to a region where gold has been discovered, hoping to strike it rich.
The term evokes the California Gold Rush of 1849 and similar mass migrations driven by mineral wealth.
By extension, gold rushers can describe anyone chasing quick riches or rushing toward opportunity: Tech gold rushers poured into Silicon Valley.
