goings
Acts of leaving
Goings refers to departures or acts of leaving: There were many comings and goings at the hotel.
The word appears almost exclusively in the phrase comings and goings, describing the movement of people arriving and departing from a place.
On its own, goings is rare outside set expressions like goings-on, which means events or activities, often with a hint of something questionable: Strange goings-on in that house.
