global search
Search everything everywhere
Global search is a search that spans an entire document, database, or system rather than a limited portion.
In text editors and word processors, global search finds all instances of a term throughout a file, often paired with global replace: I did a global search and replace to fix the spelling.
The term distinguishes comprehensive searches from those restricted to a selection, folder, or single field.
